How to clean the ears of a dog

Please do not use cotton swabs to clean the ears of dogs, because the cotton swabs may cause perforation of the dog’s eardrum or the risk of trauma to the ear canal. 4. Continue to support the ear flap with one hand, and gently massage the base of the ear under the ear hole with the other hand for about 30 seconds.

5. Let your dog shake. You may need to bring a towel between you and your dog so that you are not splashed.

6. Lift the ear flap again and take a soft cotton ball with your hand to wipe off any remaining cleanser. The depth of your fingers into the ear canal should not be deeper than your first knuckle.
